Working draft — pending final legal review. This page describes how Glydr intends to operate during our Accra pilot. We are finalising review with Ghana-qualified counsel and will publish the signed-off version before the public launch. Questions or feedback: legal@glydr.africa.
1. The short version
The glydr.africa website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads no third-party scripts. Web fonts are self-hosted at build time, so your browser never connects to Google for fonts at runtime.
This is unusual. It is also a deliberate position we plan to keep until product analytics actually serve a user need we can’t meet another way.
2. What that means in practice
- We do not place tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies on your device when you browse glydr.africa.
- We do not use
localStorageorsessionStoragefor tracking purposes on glydr.africa. - We do not load Google Analytics, Plausible, PostHog, Vercel Analytics, Mixpanel, Hotjar, Segment, Meta Pixel, or any equivalent script.
- We do not embed third-party widgets (chat, social-share, comment systems) on this site.
- Our hosting provider (Vercel) does collect standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, User-Agent, timestamp) for delivery and DDoS protection. That is server-side log data required to serve the page at all; it does not place anything on your device.
3. The Glydr mobile app
This notice covers glydr.africa, the marketing website. The Glydr iOS and Android mobile apps use different technologies — including Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications, Sentry for crash reporting (mobile only), and local secure storage for authentication tokens and your app PIN. Those mechanisms are described in the Privacy Policy.
4. If this changes
If we add analytics or any other client-side tracking to glydr.africa, we will update this notice in advance and (where the change is material under DPA 2012 s.20) we will surface a consent UI on the site before loading any non-essential technology that processes your personal data. Our default position is to keep glydr.africa cookie-free.
5. Forward compatibility
Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 does not impose the granular cookie-consent rule that the EU’s ePrivacy Directive does, but the position above also satisfies the Nigeria NDPA 2023, Kenya DPA 2019, South Africa POPIA, and EU GDPR / ePrivacy. If you visit glydr.africa from any of those jurisdictions, the same answer applies — we’re not tracking you.
